Hard Pellet Stools and Blood in Your Stool

For average everyday constipation, traditional herbal remedies might be the best choice to resolve the problem of hard pellet stools. Herbal formulations use multiple herbs to provide immense relief. Colon cleansers such as Bowtrol Colon cleanse can powerfully increase a feeling of health and well being.

However there is one issue where you must contact your doctor immediately. Whether you see blood in/on your stool, in the toilet bowl, or on your toilet tissue, you must take action to find out the reason. And not seeing blood in the stool a second time, does not mean the problem has gone away.

Blood in Stool and Colorectal Cancer

“Is it colon cancer?” is the first question to be answered after seeing bloody stool. Your physician will perform multiple tests to determine whether this is the case. The color may range from pink to bright red, to maroon to black.

Colon Cancer and Changes in Bowel Habits

Colon cancer can cause changes in bowel habits. A cancerous growth may obstruct the colon. This prevents the easy passage of feces through the gut. Cancer can also cause changes in the shape of your stool. Unsurprisingly, narrow stools occurring over a few days may be a sign of colorectal cancer.

Note: diarrhea can also be a sign of colon cancer.

Colorectal Cancer and Screening

Colorectal cancer is he fourth most common cancer, for both men and women. Early detection is important because it is often curable when discovered early in the course of the disease. Screening therefore is of the utmost importance. Periodic colonoscopies for those over 50 is the primary method to screen this type of cancer.

Bloody Stool and Other Illnesses

Cancer is not the only disease causing bloody stools. A non-exhaustive list includes: autoimmune diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis; diverticular disease; hemorrhoids; and anorectal fissures.
